Fast Company’s article covers the Dos and Don’ts of being Social. You’re correct to assume that most of these rules are common sense, but, from what I’ve seen while monitoring feeds throughout the day— it is not often practiced. My personal pet-peeve is when you receive automated direct messages (such as on Twitter) from someone you’ve followed. Not only is it annoying but it’s utterly impersonal and does nothing to further your relationship with that person. A big NO-NO in my books. Please don’t be that person.
